How to change any static text

The easiest way to change any static text in HivePress, its themes, or extensions without code changes is by using the Loco Translate plugin. Please refer to the HivePress translation doc and follow the steps from the screencast.

Texts may be available in different sections depending on the context, e.g., texts related to reviews can be found in the Loco Translate > Plugins > HivePress Reviews section since they are added by the Reviews extension.

When prompted to choose a location for your translation file, select Custom. If you choose the default plugin or theme directory instead, your translation changes may be overwritten when the plugin or theme is updated.

If the text is not available, you need to synchronize the template. For example, if the text is related to reviews, navigate to the Loco Translate > Plugins > HivePress Reviews > Edit Template section and click Sync. Then save changes.

Next, go to the Loco Translate > Plugins > HivePress Reviews > New Language (or choose your current language) and click Sync and then Save. Now the missing strings should appear.

The language you select in Loco Translate must be the same as the one set in WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General > Site Language, otherwise the translations may not be applied correctly (e.g., if your Site Language is set to English (UK), you must select English (UK) in Loco Translate as well, selecting English (United States) or any other variant will not work).
